Vampire Facial

A Vampire Facial® is a non-invasive medical procedure in which a person’s own blood is used to create a more youthful appearance. Unwanted skin folds and wrinkles can be smoothed out, creating a younger, but natural and more vibrant look. This procedure is similar to dermal fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, however, with a Vampire Facial®, no foreign substances are injected into the body.

The Vampire Facial® was created in 2010 by Dr. Charles Runels. Only physicians who have been trained and certified by Dr. Runels may perform this procedure. Dr. Thampy has been personally trained and certified and is the only physician in Fresno California to receive this certification.

How Does The Vampire Facial Work?
Blood is taken from the person’s arm in the same way as any blood test you may have had previously. Your blood is then placed in a hi-speed centrifuge, which allows platelets to be isolated from the rest of the blood. These growth-factor rich platelets are then injected back into the person’s face using a very fine needle to induce new growth of collagen, blood vessels and skin tissue. With this procedure, the skin is lifted away from the bone, to create not only new blood flow, but also skin volume.
How Long Does a Vampire Facial Last?
Improvements from a Vampire Facial® will continue for up to 3 months after the procedure with results lasting approximately 18 months.
How Much Blood is Taken From My Arm?
Many patients are astonished to know that only about 4 teaspoons are taken from the arm.
