Dermal Fillers

As we age, collagen – which maintains skin firmness – gradually disappears and our skin loses moisture. Today’s dermal fillers can take years off of your appearance by restoring volume that time has taken away. As youthful cheeks begin to flatten and sag, wrinkles, lines, and indentations start to appear. The skillful use of injectable fillers can:

  • Smooth deep smile lines that run from the nose to the chin
  • Diminish dark circles by filling under-eye hollows
  • Create fuller, more youthful-looking cheeks and lips
  • Enhance the fullness of your lips and smooth out fine lines around the mouth
  • Even out indented scars on the face

Dr. Thampy uses several types of dermal fillers like JUVÉDERM™ and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC. These all add scaffolding and support to your face, giving your skin a flattering, youthful volume and enhanced appearance.

JUVÉDERM™ and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC mimics the hyaluronic acid found in your skin to hydrate it. VOLUMA™ XC is a new filler that can be used to add instant volume in the face for results lasting up to two years.

What Can Dermal Fillers Treat?
Dermal Fillers are proven to treat most facial wrinkles including:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Fine lines
  • Marionette lines (Smoker Lines)
  • Thin Lip
  • Depressed Scars

Dr. Thampy may also use dermal fillers in facial contouring of the chin, cheeks and temples. As well as in lip augmentation or to treat a hollow tear trough.

What Is the Dermal Filler Treatment?
When you receive a dermal filler treatment, you will likely not need an anesthetic as Juvederm contains lidocaine to help numb the area upon injection. However, if you are particularly sensitive, a powerful topical anesthetic may be available. To begin your treatment, Dr. Thampy will inject the dermal filler into and below your skin’s dermis. When injected, the solution will combine with your skin’s own properties and begin to add volume immediately.

Dermal Filler Treatment Aftercare

After your dermal filler treatment, the injection site may feel overly full, but this will quickly dissipate. Some patients experience some mild side effects including redness, swelling or itching. Applying an ice pack may help control swelling.

Juvederm treatment, results last anywhere from six to twelve months.
